We've done it! All of the hoopla is over, we've honeymooned for a week (and that's still not over!) and here we are with a HUGE special combined family and a ring on each of our special fingers ready to "start" our life together.

We can't thank all of you enough for the love, support, travel, gifts, parties and everything else you have done for us during the past 8 months. I'm not sure what will happen with this blog now. Maybe I'll use it for highly personal posts, maybe it will sit here for history's sake but I wanted to open it up to everyone we love now. I wish ALL of you could have been with us on our wedding day and throughout the entire process, I really appreciate you keeping up with us on our journey. Much love, Michelle

Less than a week and a half until I do.

Just wanted to let you guys know that we can't wait to see you all in your hats.I've enjoyed the comments from all of you ladies who decided to wear a hat, I think they will create such a fun experience!

I hope that I've been able to keep enough excitement in that you don't know EXACTLY what to expect when you arrive next Saturday!

Butterflies are setting in

In two weeks we'll all be celebrating this joyous occasion. I'm putting the finishing touches on a few things with the help of my mom, her friend Karen, Kathy and David. I don't know what I would do without them!

February 24, 2009: 60 days until the big day!

David and I appreciate you checking back in after receiving your invitation. We can't wait to celebrate with everyone in two months! Loose ends are being tied up and everything is coming together, from the vows to the yummy cakes!

Soon we will start our meetings with my childhood Priest, Father Spurgeon Hayes, who will be leading the ceremony. Judge Sidney Esary of Griffin is an old family friend, he will be assisting Father Hayes with the ceremony. Judge Esary and Father Hayes were in charge of the legal work and blessing when my father adopted me. David was very supportive about the two of them marrying us, so you can imagine that I am very excited for these men to be a such a big part of our wedding.

Please read over the website if you haven't had a chance to, everything you need to know about Athens and our festivities is listed here. I will be updating the directions, Twilight Information and night life attractions soon. PLEASE make sure you book your hotel room before the cut off date, the Twilight Criterium will be taking place the weekend of our wedding and hotels will be hard to come by. Welcome Friends and Family!!

We are very excited and hope that you can join us on our big day! Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our wedding, Athens and it's offerings! To the left of your screen you will find informational links on everything you need to know about our home and our wedding. But keep your eyes open for more mail in February, there is a formal invitation to follow. Check back often for more up to date info as our vows near.

There is a lot going on in Athens during the wedding weekend, please read about The Twilight Criterium and other attractions, and make sure to book your hotels by the block cut off date, it will be impossible to do so afterward. If you are new to Athens or haven't visited in a while we suggest spending as much time here in April as everyday life can allow, we are truly blessed to be residents in this amazing city. On January 13, 2009 Athens was voted as one of a dozen Distinctive Destinations in America by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

We love our home and we have pledged to support the local economy in every aspect of our wedding. We have carefully chosen local favorites such as our locations, caterers, beer selection, cakes, photographer and everything in between to make sure that our guests will leave with a new (or renewed!) love for our favorite city. We hope you enjoy your stay in The Classic City.
